Bologna Welcomes the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Travelling Exhibition
Bologna's Piazza Lucio Dalla is hosting the travelling yellow tent of the humanitarian Volunteer Ministers of Scientology, as part of a travelling programme visiting Italian cities.
Around 100 people attended the opening, including representatives of communities assisted by Volunteer Ministers after natural disasters.
Among them was Pianoro Mayor Luca Vecchiettini, who recalled the assistance provided following the 2024 floods. Restaurateur Fabrizio Lazzarini also recalled the Volunteer Ministers helping his business recover after the flooding.
Andrea Ferrarini, formerly involved with civil protection in Bondeno, also remembered assistance provided after the 2012 earthquakes.
Created in 1976 by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, the programme provides practical methods for addressing everyday difficulties as well as assistance during emergencies.
Inside the Bologna tent, visitors can view photographs and videos documenting Volunteer Ministers activities while learning about communication, relationships, study, work and family life.
Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, described the Bologna initiative as an expression of European values of solidarity, human dignity and community responsibility.
The Bologna exhibition highlights a programme that operates both in times of disaster and in everyday community life.
